Billal Hossain arrest demand has been made by Ruma Akter, the sole survivor of a triple murder that shook Muradnagar, Comilla. Speaking at a press conference held at the National Press Club in Dhaka, she accused Billal Hossain, father of political advisor Asif Mahmud Sajib, of masterminding the killing of her mother, sister, and brother on July 3.
Ruma stated that her mother, an opposition political activist, had been under continuous threat from local ruling party-backed criminals. “They tried to silence us for months. On the night before the attack, a staged argument gave them the excuse to kill my family,” she said.

She alleged that the attackers — including Shimul Chairman, Anu Member, Rabiul, and several others — entered their home early in the morning and slaughtered her family members with machetes. Though she called 999 multiple times, no police assistance arrived.
Ruma herself was stabbed several times and left for dead. “I survived with 72 stitches. But justice is still far,” she cried. According to her, the police deliberately omitted Billal Hossain’s name from the initial FIR due to his political influence.
She also claimed that key accused like Shimul Chairman are currently hiding at Asif Mahmud’s residence, and her family is being threatened to withdraw the case. Ruma demanded:
Immediate arrest of Billal Hossain
Rearrest of fugitives including Shimul Chairman
Addition of all omitted names to the murder case
Full protection for surviving family members
“This was a political assassination. If I die next, let the nation know who’s responsible,” she said, pointing directly at Billal Hossain and Asif Mahmud Sajib.
