The Uttara Milestone Protest took a dramatic turn on Tuesday as Legal Advisor Asif Nazrul and Education Advisor CR Abrar were trapped inside the Milestone School and College campus for over five hours. The incident occurred when students erupted in protest during their visit to the site of a recent jet crash.
Around 10:30 AM, the two advisors arrived at the campus to inspect the crash site. As soon as they were spotted, students began chanting “Fake! Fake!” slogans, accusing the authorities of misinformation and negligence. The advisors sought shelter inside a room on the ground floor of Building 5 as the tension escalated.

Later, 5 to 7 student representatives were allowed inside for discussion, but word quickly spread that the advisors were still in the building. Within minutes, thousands of students gathered outside, surrounding the building and continuing their protest with slogans and placards.
Students alleged that after the crash, the administration failed to provide timely rescue, treatment, and safety. They also criticized the lack of emergency contact and blood group info on ID cards, and narrow gates that delayed emergency response.
Despite efforts by the administration to calm the situation, tensions persisted. Finally, around 3:30 PM, the protest subsided enough for the two advisors to leave under police protection.
The Uttara Milestone Protest has sparked nationwide attention, highlighting concerns about student safety, accountability, and transparency.
