Religious Affairs Adviser Kazi Shah Mofazzal Hossain Kaykobad has said that the government elected by the people is a farmer-friendly government and has been working for the development of agriculture and farmers since assuming office.
He made the remarks while addressing a program as the chief guest on Friday (May 8) at Muradnagar upzilla Parishad in Cumilla, where agricultural machinery was distributed free of cost among local farmers.
Kaykobad said the government has already launched various initiatives, including farmer cards, to improve the livelihoods of farmers across the country.
He also stated that the current government is committed to providing free agricultural machinery to every farmer gradually.
“The government has introduced honorarium allowances for imams, muezzins and priests across the country. Family cards have also been distributed. This is a people-oriented government working for public welfare,” he added.

Among others present were Additional Superintendent of Police (Muradnagar Circle) AKM Kamruzzaman, Upazila Agriculture Officer Pavel Khan Pappu, Rural Development Officer Shafiqul Islam, Upazila Engineer Kazi Faisal Bari Purno, Officer-in-Charge of Muradnagar Police Station Anwar Hossain and Officer-in-Charge of Bangra Bazar Police Station Shafiul Alam.
During the event, local youth leader Md. Kamal Uddin Pintu greeted the adviser along with hundreds of supporters.
Under the Sustainable Agricultural Technology Expansion Project of the Department of Agricultural Extension in the Cumilla region, a total of 167 agricultural machines and equipment were distributed free of cost among farmers in 22 unions of Muradnagar upazila during the current fiscal year.
The distributed items included bed planters, paddy harvesters, maize threshers, irrigation pumps and paddy threshing machines.
