Advisor’s Father’s Abuse of Power has come under fire following a controversial statement made by Md. Billal Hossain, headmaster of Akbapur School in Muradnagar and father of the Prime Minister’s local government advisor Asif Mahmud.
আমরা কিন্তু ধরব, এই দেখতাছি, যে বা যাহারা (অভিযোগকারী) ইহার সাথে জড়িত সবগুলোরে ধরব। আপনারা কোথায় থেকে এটা পাইছেন, কি…

According to a Facebook post by writer and researcher Nadim Mahmud, the headmaster was caught on camera issuing veiled threats to those who had spoken to the media. His words:
“We will find them. We are watching. Whoever is involved with this (accusation), we will catch all of them. Tell us where you got this information, why you’re saying it. Prove it, or else we know where to take this!”
Such language, aired in a Bangla Vision report, sounds more like a mafia threat than the tone expected from an educator. His repeated use of “we” clearly alludes to his access to political power—thanks to his son’s advisory position in the current government.

Once, children flaunted their parents’ political clout. Now, it seems, some parents exploit their children’s positions for power trips. While no child should be punished for their parent’s actions, if a parent misuses state authority due to their child’s post, accountability must follow.
The Advisor’s Father’s Abuse of Power is not a mere personal vendetta or baseless retaliation. The victims’ testimonies from the ground are alarming, detailing serious abuses of authority.
Aside from one inconsistency, the Bangla Vision report appears professionally done. The government, if it cares about public perception, should promptly investigate these incidents in Muradnagar. Until the probe concludes, the concerned advisor should be distanced from their responsibilities to avoid influencing the investigation.
The real test lies in how the government responds to this embarrassing scandal. Will they ensure impartial inquiry, or will this be another tale of influence-over-justice? Time will tell.
