The Jonokontho Journalist Controversy has escalated beyond workplace conflict into a full-blown internal sabotage attempt. A group of recently dismissed employees has reportedly hacked the newspaper’s verified Facebook page and published false claims that over 20 journalists were fired for supporting a so-called “July Revolution”.
According to these false posts, the newspaper ceased operations in protest, and the firings were ordered by Editor Shamima A Khan after some staff published a red-themed version of the paper in defiance of an earlier black edition.

However, credible internal sources reveal that the Jonokontho editorial operations are continuing as usual. There was no mass layoff. Rather, a few employees were removed for violating institutional discipline and engaging in unethical behavior. The false narrative is being pushed by a self-serving faction that is attempting to create public outrage and discredit the editor.
Staff members claim the real objective behind the controversy is to undermine a female editor by spreading politically charged lies and creating a manipulated mob response. The hacked Facebook page is being used to amplify this misinformation.

A senior executive of Jonokontho stated:
“This is not a fight for journalistic values. It is an orchestrated campaign by disgruntled insiders to tarnish the image of the editor and destabilize the institution from within.”
The Jonokontho Journalist Controversy reveals a deeper conspiracy aimed at overtaking editorial control and silencing pro-liberation voices. The use of misinformation, digital sabotage, and emotional manipulation marks this as a dangerous attempt to shake public trust in independent journalism.
