Bangladeshi journalist Fahima Begum Priya, Executive Editor of Dainik Ajker Kotha and Dainik Joy Banglar Joy, has expressed her deepest gratitude to the Rory Peck Trust, describing its support as nothing short of life-saving.
In a heartfelt testimony, Priya revealed that during her most difficult days as a journalist, no one—neither any person nor any organization—came forward to help. It was only the Rory Peck Trust that extended its hand of support.
“The support I received from the Rory Peck Trust has truly kept me alive. Even though the amount was small compared to my medical costs, it made a life-saving difference. In my darkest time, their help was nothing less than a blessing. I will always remain deeply grateful to them,” Priya said.
She also added that in her eyes, the Rory Peck Trust deserves global recognition for its relentless contribution to the lives of freelance journalists who risk everything to report the truth.
As the Rory Peck Trust prepares for its annual awards in London this November, Priya’s testimony stands as a powerful reminder of the organization’s impact on vulnerable journalists across the world.
