A legal notice has been sent seeking a travel ban on 24 former advisors, including Dr. Muhammad Yunus, former chief advisor of the illegal interim government.
On Monday (6 April), Supreme Court lawyer Barrister M. Ashraful Islam sent the notice and confirmed the matter to journalists.
The notice alleges involvement in awarding the HAMER vaccination program to the private sector instead of the state system. Based on these allegations, it demands investigation and necessary legal action against Dr. Yunus and other involved advisors.
It further states that imposing a travel ban is necessary in the interest of the investigation.
Notably, following the government change on 5 August 2024, Dr. Muhammad Yunus took office as the chief advisor of the interim government illegally. He later handed over responsibilities to the elected government after the 12 February 2026 election.
