Improving education standards in Debidwar took center stage during a vibrant event organized at Habibur Rahman High School. The program featured a guardians’ gathering and a reception for high-achieving students.
The event was held on Saturday (26 July) at 10 AM in the school courtyard. The chief guest was Debidwar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Mohammad Abul Hasnat Khan.
In his address, he said, “Every mother is her child’s first teacher. While access to education has expanded, we are still lagging behind in quality. To ensure quality education, coordinated efforts from teachers, guardians, and the school management committee are essential.”

The event was presided over by Professor Md. Nazrul Islam Bhuiyan, Chairman of the School Managing Committee. Assistant teachers Md. Shahjalal Bhuiyan and Md. Wali Ullah moderated the program.
Special guests included Advocate Khandaker Mizanur Rahman, General Secretary of the Cumilla Bar Association; Md. Abul Kalam Azad, former principal of Dhamti Roushan Ara College; ABM Atikur Rahman Bashar, President of Debidwar Upazila Press Club; businessman Md. Mojibur Rahman; and Mawlana Md. Bahauddin.
The welcome speech was delivered by the school’s head teacher Md. Abul Kalam Azad.
Among others who spoke were veteran educator Abdur Rahim, Ripon Chandra Debnath, Ayub Ali Sarkar, Mostafizur Rahman Sarkar, Md. Shafiqul Islam, Mawlana Nurul Islam, Monirul Islam Bhuiyan, former NSI Director Golam Mostafa Chowdhury, businessman Shahjahan Kabir, guardian Elmad Alam Babu, Advocate Harun Or Rashid Sabuj, Md. Mohiuddin Khaza, and students Khairuz Anika Bindu, Saimon Chowdhury, Irshad Jahan, and Tanmoy Debnath.
Improving Education Standards in Debidwar. The program concluded with a costume contest and a colorful cultural performance. A total of 14 SSC students who achieved GPA-5 were awarded crests and one-time scholarships in recognition of their academic excellence.
