ISPR vs Chief Advisor’s Office—this is the burning question now. While most national newspapers today reported 31 or 32 deaths in the Milestone incident based on ISPR’s statement yesterday, the Chief Advisor’s Office has just claimed that the death count is only 29, and only 68 people are currently hospitalized.
Yesterday, ISPR stated that 31 people had died and 165 were injured across 10 hospitals. Based on that, most newspapers published the same.
But now the interim government claims there are only 29 deaths and 68 injured across 8 hospitals.
Should we believe that 2–3 children miraculously survived overnight, and 97 people magically recovered?
This contradictory information exposes a severe lack of coordination within the government.
Is ISPR wrong? Or is the Chief Advisor’s Office misreporting?
Historically, ISPR is known for accuracy, while the interim government’s data has faced credibility challenges.
ISPR vs Chief Advisor’s Office—the government must clarify which data is accurate. If it fails to do so, the public trust will rapidly erode during this critical period.
