The Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS), in collaboration with UNICEF Bangladesh, is set to release the preliminary findings of the Bangladesh Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey (MICS) 2025 at a national dissemination event in Dhaka on Sunday, November 16, 2025.
The event, titled “National Dissemination of the Bangladesh MICS 2025: Preliminary Findings”, will take place from 9:00 AM to 1:30 PM at the Celebrity Hall, Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Center (BCFCC) in the capital.
The MICS 2025, implemented by BBS with technical and financial support from UNICEF, is the most comprehensive source of data on the well-being of children, adolescents, and women across Bangladesh. The survey provides more than 200 indicators, offering vital insights into areas such as health, nutrition, education, early learning, and child protection—aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and national priorities.
Distinguished Guests to Attend
The dissemination event will be graced by:
- Dr. Wahiduddin Mahmud, Honourable Adviser, Ministry of Planning, as Chief Guest
- Ms. Aleya Akhter, Secretary, Statistics and Informatics Division, as Special Guest
- Ms. Rana Flowers, UNICEF Representative to Bangladesh, as Guest of Honour
Highlighting Evidence for Policy Action
Officials from BBS and UNICEF emphasized that the MICS 2025 findings will play a crucial role in shaping data-driven policies and investment decisions focused on equity and inclusion.
The survey provides geographically disaggregated data that can help identify disparities and guide targeted interventions in key sectors affecting children and women’s lives.
Media representatives covering social and economic development, data and statistics, child rights, and child protection reform have been invited to attend the event.
Participation from journalists and policymakers is expected to help highlight the importance of evidence-based planning for the country’s future development and for achieving national and global goals related to child welfare and women’s empowerment.
