Tangail Student Protest Against NCP Rally gained momentum on Wednesday after allegations surfaced that students of Bindubasini Government Boys’ High School were forcibly taken from classrooms to attend a political event organized by the National Citizens’ Party (NCP).
The protest march, led by both current and former students, moved through key streets of Tangail and concluded at the Press Club where an open-air protest rally was held. Participants chanted slogans condemning the incident.

Saiful Bari, a Class 10 student, said,
“On Tuesday morning, NCP leaders entered our classrooms without any permission and forcefully took many of us to the rally. Even our teachers protested, which led to early dismissal.”
He added, “We are students, not voters. Why are we being politicized? This is unacceptable. We demand accountability.”
Former student Tanzil Ahmed called it a “disgraceful incident,” stating,
“Removing students from class for a political rally is unheard of. We demand that the responsible individuals be punished and that a public apology be issued immediately.”
In response to the growing outrage, Masudur Rahman Russell, District Coordinator of NCP, said,
“There was no official order from us. Still, on behalf of NCP, I apologize to all affected students and teachers. It won’t happen again.”
On Tuesday morning, the controversial NCP “July March” began at Shamsul Haque Gate and ended with a street rally at Nirala More. Top NCP leaders including Nahid Islam, Sarjis Alam, Hasnat Abdullah, Nasir Uddin Patwari, Samanta Sharmin, Dr. Tasnim Zara, and others were present.
Over 900 police officers were deployed to ensure security during the event, which has now sparked backlash due to the Tangail Student Protest Against NCP Rally.
