Journalist Shariful Alam Chowdhury is receiving the honor of the United Nations

Mohammad Shariful Alam Chowdhury:The young journalist and Cumilla district's own correspondent of Daily Ajkaler Khabor is receiving the United Nations Democracy Fund ('UNDEF') Award-2022 for special reporting.  Mohammad Shariful Alam Chowdhury. This award is being given to 8 journalists selected from various print and electronic media journalists across the country in the reporting competition on 'Democracy and Human Rights' organized by the News Network with the support of the United Nations Democracy Fund (UNDF) for special reports. They were selected for special reports published in print and electronic media last year. A 3-member board comprising renowned journalists of the country Farid Hossain, Shams Uddin Ahmed and Ziaur Rahman analyzed the quality and content of the report and selected 8 people. 7 of them are from print media and one from electronics media. Mohammad Shariful Alam Chowdhury, Staff Reporter of Cumilla District of Ajkaler Khabor newspaper, the country's top daily among print media, was nominated for this award.

Regarding the primary education system of Comilla district, in September last year, the public primary schools of Cumilla, which are plagued with various problems including dilapidated buildings, infrastructural problems, classrooms and manpower shortage, still the students here are not lagging behind. He was selected for an investigative report titled 'Reading numbers are declining' and the authorities decided to award him a commendation. In a ceremony organized by news network at Dhanmondi in the capital Dhaka on Monday afternoon, the head of UNESCO Bangladesh, Mrs. Beat Rhys Keldun, will hand over the UN award to the winners as the chief guest. It will be attended by senior officials of the organization and prominent journalists of the country.

It is to be noted that earlier, he received the honor for the report published in today's news about the health services of Cumilla District Sadar Hospital under the title 'Irregular corruption, the medical services of Sadar Hospital are being disrupted, as a result of which the patients and their relatives are suffering greatly'. Journalist Mohammad Shariful Alam Chowdhury is the eldest son of freedom fighter Mohammad Abdul Matin Chowdhury of Kaziyatal village in Muradnagar upazila of Cumilla.
