Journalist dies while collecting news in Cumilla

Mohammad Shariful Alam Chowdhury, Cumilla: M. Sadeq, a senior photojournalist of Daily Prothom Alo and a member of the Cumilla Press Club, has passed away. (Innalillahi wa inna ilaihi rajiun). He breathed his last at CD Path Hospital in Cumilla around 2 pm on Monday (February 17). He was 63 years old at the time of his death. He is survived by a son, wife, grandchildren and countless admirers. Abdur Rahman, Cumilla district representative of Prothom Alo, confirmed the death of journalist M Sadeq.

He said that he went to take pictures of the fishing festival in the Gumti River in Cumilla around 12 pm on Monday. He suddenly fell ill while taking pictures there and was taken to CD Path Hospital. He died there around 2 pm.

Comilla's senior photojournalist M Sadeq had been working as a photographer in the Comilla region since the establishment of Prothom Alo.

Senior Cumilla journalist ABM Atiqur Rahman Bashar, Cumilla Press Club and leaders of various political, social and cultural organizations in Comilla have expressed deep grief over his death.
