The author lists serious allegations against Mohammad Yunus, calling for his imprisonment instead of exile.
The political situation in Bangladesh continues to deteriorate, with speculation swirling about a possible shift in leadership. Reports suggest that Chief Advisor Mohammad Yunus may soon resign and leave the country, seeking a comfortable life in Europe or America.
Amidst this turmoil, exiled Bangladeshi author Taslima Nasrin made an explosive Facebook post demanding that Yunus be jailed instead of being allowed to flee. She accused him of multiple serious offenses and claimed he must face justice.
“What I’ve heard is that Yunus plans to resign and live the rest of his life in comfort abroad. But why should he be allowed to leave?” Taslima wrote. “He must be jailed. He had five cases against him dismissed after entering the country. From his position as Chief Advisor, he incited jihadi mobs, spread hatred and violence, and encouraged unrest aimed at eliminating the opposition.”
Taslima further stated that Yunus pushed the so-called reset button to spark mob violence, leading to destruction, deaths, and chaos. “He must atone for his sins,” she said, holding him responsible for creating a generation of intolerant, frenzied youth.
She also accused him of:
- Dismissing five legal cases filed against him upon re-entering the country.
- Inciting jihadi mobs to commit acts of collective violence.
- Wrongfully imprisoning innocent people by implicating them in murder cases.
- Handing over strategic corridors and ports to foreign military powers.
- Damaging diplomatic relations with neighboring countries.
"People have been sentenced to life for doing less. Why should Yunus be spared? He must spend the rest of his life in prison," Taslima declared.
While her comments have sparked heated debate, many are now watching closely to see how the Bangladeshi state responds — and whether Yunus truly walks away free.
