Muradnagar Clash Between Two Groups Turns Violent, Army Deployed — A violent clash broke out between residents of Bakhronagar and Vinglabari villages at the Companyganj Bus Stand area in Muradnagar upazila, Comilla. To contain the situation, army troops and additional police forces have been deployed.
The conflict reportedly began on Thursday night when a scuffle broke out between Farzana Transport driver Sohel and journalist Monirul Haque. Later, supporters of the journalist from Bakhronagar attacked the transport workers and vandalized the counter.
In retaliation, Vinglabari villagers conducted an armed march in the area on Friday morning. This led to multiple waves of chase and counter-chase between the two sides, leaving several injured. Following police intervention, the army was deployed to stabilize the situation.
By Friday evening, villagers from both groups had taken up positions on opposite sides of the bus stand, under close surveillance by the authorities.
Muradnagar OC Zahidur Rahman confirmed that additional forces, including the army, are currently stationed in the area to maintain peace.
