Milestone Advisors and Press Secretary Detained, Students demand truth and justice over air crash victims; surround advisors and demand 6-point charter
Milestone Advisors and Press Secretary Detained during a chaotic student protest following a recent plane crash that rocked the Milestone School and College campus in Uttara.
Legal Advisor Dr. Asif Nazrul, Education Advisor Prof. Dr. Chowdhury Rafiqul (C.R.) Abrar, and the Chief Advisor’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam faced intense backlash when they arrived on campus Tuesday morning, July 22, around 10:30 AM, to inspect the crash site — the Haidar Ali Building.

As the two advisors attempted to leave the site, students blocked their way, chanting slogans like “Fraud! Fraud!”, and demanded answers. The officials quickly entered Building No. 5 to avoid confrontation. Shortly afterward, Education Advisor Dr. Abrar joined them inside.
Around 11:30 AM, when the trio tried to exit the building together, students again surrounded them, forcing them back into the same building with the help of college teachers. There, Dr. Asif Nazrul spoke to a selected student delegation.
Speaking to reporters, 11th grader Tarikul Islam stated, “We believe at least 40 students have died in the crash, yet the government only claims 27. Many bodies are still missing. Parents are desperate. We are protesting because we have no trust in the official narrative.”
Students accuse the government of hiding the real casualty numbers and failing to launch a credible investigation. They also allege that protestors, guardians, and some teachers were attacked the night before by unknown individuals.
The campus remains tense as students demand acceptance of their six-point list and justice for the deceased. With Milestone Advisors and Press Secretary Detained, national attention is now focused on how the administration will respond to this rapidly unfolding crisis.
