The Jamaat Leader Hasan Ali signature forgery scandal has triggered major controversy in Hatibandha upazila of Lalmonirhat. Allegations of corruption, recruitment irregularities, and forged official signatures have surfaced against the acting principal of Hatibandha Model College and Jamaat-e-Islami’s Upazila Ameer, Hasan Ali.
On Thursday (July 31), Hatibandha Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Shamim Mia issued a show-cause notice to Hasan Ali in response to the allegations.

On the same day, Hasan Ali was relieved of his position as Upazila Ameer, and Jamaat’s upazila secretary Rafiqul Islam was appointed as acting Ameer. Lalmonirhat district Jamaat Ameer, Abu Taher, confirmed the removal but declined to comment on the reason behind it.
College governing body president and UNO Shamim Mia stated that although four individuals were claiming the principal position, Hasan Ali was serving as acting principal. Despite the college being MPO-enlisted, teachers and staff haven’t received salaries due to administrative complications.
Allegations against Hasan Ali include manipulating the teacher-staff recruitment list and forging the UNO’s signature. Reportedly, he scanned the UNO’s signature and submitted 13 fake appointment files to the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE).
“I did not sign any of those documents. My scanned signature was used and submitted without authorization,” UNO Shamim Mia said. “After receiving complaints, a show-cause notice was issued to Hasan Ali. Legal action will be taken based on the response and investigation.”
Attempts to contact Hasan Ali for comments were unsuccessful, as his mobile phone remained switched off.
The Jamaat Leader Hasan Ali signature forgery scandal has sparked outrage in the local community and raised serious questions about corruption in educational institutions.
