The oppressed are praying and fasting for Trump to return Sheikh Hasina to power with respect in Bangladesh

Sharif Cowdhury : Awami League and minorities are also present in Trump's victory.

Donald Trump has won the US presidential election. The Awami League, which was ousted from power through the student-public movement in Bangladesh, has become optimistic about his victory. The oppressed minorities of Bangladesh have also become optimistic.

The oppressed people of Bangladesh have said that the minority groups and members of the opposition party (Awami League) in Bangladesh have become quite optimistic about the return of Donald Trump as the 47th President of the United States. Many believe that the relationship between America and the chief advisor of the interim government of Bangladesh, Dr. Muhammad Yunus, can usher in a 'transformative time' in the future.

Donald Trump was congratulated on being elected president from the verified Facebook page of the Awami League. There, the helpless oppressed people of Bangladesh and the Awami League claim that the ousted former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is the 'Prime Minister'. Although Sheikh Hasina has been staying in India for the past few months. An Awami League leader who went into hiding after Sheikh Hasina was ousted said that ‘change is inevitable’ after Trump came to power. This is because an unelected authoritarian government in the country is fueling communal hatred as well as ‘democraticism’.

It has been claimed on behalf of the helpless oppressed in Bangladesh that they have targeted Hindus, Buddhists and Awami League supporters in various cities of the country including Dhaka and Chittagong where student protesters are maintaining control. Quoting analysts, it has been said that Trump is ‘unwavering’ in his friendship with India. During his tenure, the ‘unelected government’ of Bangladesh will be in an uncertain situation. According to everyone, during Trump’s tenure, the India-US axis will try to use Bangladesh to ‘contain’ China.

According to the Awami League leader who is in hiding, there could be a significant change in Washington-Dhaka diplomatic relations as power in the US passes from the Democrats to the Republicans. Because, their friend Dr. Yunus will not get any more support.

He said, “During the election campaign, Trump has highlighted the oppression of Hindus and minorities under the current government in Bangladesh. Numerous incidents of oppression are coming to light. Harassment through legal processes has started against the opposition. Recently, actress Shami Kaiser was arrested in a murder case. However, most people believe that she was arrested as a revenge for her association with the Awami League. We hope that this situation will improve with Trump’s victory in the election.”

An Indian who moved from Dhaka to Kolkata after the mass uprising in Bangladesh told The Times of India, “In the last three months, the oppression of minority communities, especially Hindus and tribal groups, in Bangladesh has caught the attention of the international community. Trump has condemned the violence against Hindus and other minority groups in Bangladesh. The fact that he has criticized the current administration for ignoring the concerns of Hindus is giving the oppressed groups back their confidence. They now hope that the Trump administration will intervene to stop this oppression.
