Mark Zuckerberg Praised as 'Friend of the Poor' on 41st Birthday: M.A. Jalil

Mohammad Shariful Alam Choedhury : On the occasion of Mark Elliot Zuckerberg’s 41st birthday, the Bangladesh National Democratic League (BNDL) organized a discussion meeting on May 14, 2025, at 2/2 Purana Paltan (2nd floor), Dhaka.

The event was presided over by M.A. Jalil, President of BNDL. Among the speakers were prominent philosopher and columnist Abu Musa, Green Party Bangladesh President Raju Ahmed Khan, NAP Bhashani Chairman M.A. Bhashani, Joint General Secretary of Barishal Division Committee A.S.M. Mostafa Kamal, Bangladesh Jonota Cultural Council President Sheikh Badsha Uddin Mintu, National Independence Party Joint Secretary Advocate Khalequzzaman, Member Yamin Ahmed, BNDL Vice Presidents Mohammad Ali and Fatema Khatun, General Secretary Samir Ranjan Das, and Office Secretary Kamal Hossain.

In his speech, M.A. Jalil praised Zuckerberg as the "world’s leading humanitarian and friend of the poor." He highlighted that Zuckerberg, born on this day in democratic and humanitarian America, created Facebook to help people across the globe connect quickly and affordably.

“We, the people of Bangladesh and the Bangladesh National Democratic League, extend our heartfelt greetings and congratulations to Mark Zuckerberg on his 41st birthday. We wish him good health and a long life,” Jalil said.

He further urged Zuckerberg to ensure Facebook remains a platform for ordinary people and not misused by criminals or bad actors. “Facebook should be a space that truly benefits people from all walks of life,” he added.
