“Gopalganj Civilian Killings 2025: Freedom Fighter Mohammad Abdul Matin Chowdhury Stands as a Symbol of Honor and Resistance”
Gopalganj Civilian Killings 2025 has ignited public outrage after a respected freedom fighter and former military officer, Abdul Matin Chowdhury, criticized the role of the army and police in the deadly violence on July 16.
Matin stated that if the army chief could resist external influence and financial manipulation last August to protect national interest, why did the same institution permit armed force against civilians in Gopalganj? “What changed?” he asked.
He expressed horror at the brutality, where civilians were reportedly beaten, dragged, and burned to death. “Under whose command did this happen? Why is the army now entangled in politically charged repression?” he questioned.
Matin acknowledged that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina had significantly uplifted the armed forces—modern gear, improved rations, and better living conditions. “Despite this, today our military’s image is being questioned because of political misuse,” he lamented.
“I served with pride once, but now I feel ashamed,” he concluded.
The Gopalganj Civilian Killings 2025 has sparked growing calls for accountability, transparency, and a national dialogue on the use of force against civilians.
