The Al Jazeera journalist killing in Gaza has once again raised global outrage over press freedom and war crimes. Israeli forces carried out a targeted strike on Al Jazeera’s media tent outside Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City, killing five media workers, including journalists Anas Al-Sharif and Mohammed Qureiqeh.
Israel Admits Attack, Makes Disputed Allegations
In a statement, the Israeli military claimed responsibility for the strike, alleging that Anas Al-Sharif was leading a unit of Hamas’s armed wing. Al Jazeera and human rights groups have dismissed the accusation as “baseless and false.”
Other Victims
The attack also claimed the lives of cameramen Ibrahim Zaher and Moamen Aliwa, as well as assistant Mohammed Noufal.

Al Jazeera Journalist Killing, According to the Palestinian Health Ministry, the ongoing war in Gaza has killed at least 61,430 people and injured 153,213. In contrast, the October 7, 2023, attack in Israel killed around 1,139 people and saw more than 200 taken hostage.
