Defying government opposition and rumors, Bangladesh Awami League confirms Sheikh Hasina’s live virtual press conference to announce her return to the country.
Bangladesh Awami League has urged the public and the international media not to be misled by government propaganda, rumors, and misinformation. In an [Urgent Announcement] shared on its official Facebook page, the party stated that overcoming all hurdles and smear campaigns, Sheikh Hasina will join a virtual press conference directly as scheduled.
The Awami League alleged that the government has hired PR firms to spread false rumors among local and foreign journalists to block the press conference, alongside threatening local media outlets with lawsuits and intimidation. However, setting aside all conspiracies, Sheikh Hasina herself will go live to deliver a stern response to all propaganda and misinformation.
According to the official statement, the virtual press conference is scheduled for tomorrow, August 5, at 6:30 PM BST (6:00 PM IST) and will be broadcast live across all official social media channels of the Awami League, where she will officially outline her plans for returning home.
